<description>An experimental project, examining how participants perceived to view an infographic by David McCandless, entitled 'Mountains out of Molehills'.

The dots mark participants clicks using a usability software. the information was then recreated into the following visuals, each image marking every 5 seconds.

A project for 'Exam' an interactive piece by Ultimate Holding Company, as part of the
Queer up North Festival 2010.

I was responsible for the artwork and design of all the Exam papers and inserts for the candidates. It was important that the papers reflected genuine GCSE and ALevel papers, to create the feeling of nostalgia whilst the candidates were sitting the paper.

The first part of the 'Reading Data' project, examining the reading of basic shapes and colours in a flash card test.

Participants were shown 132 combinations of flash cards, using two at a time. The subjects shouted the card they thought the saw first. The aim was to distinguish which shapes and colours viewers found more attention grabbing. The most popular were a black square and a blue triangle.

Branding and promotion produced for the exhibition 'Eclectic Field', focussing on the crossover between science and art.

The logotype was inspired by the idea of a magnet, representing the north and south poles, reflecting the contrast between art and science.

A typography project, in which a good and a bad typeface were chosen. Good was Garamond, and bad was Bradley Hand. Combining the good and the bad, it created La Belle et la Bete, a conceptual typeface.

Different versions of Garamond were layered up, as so many versions of the same font were available. Then the image was projected and photographed.

The Bradley Hand typeface poster was inspired by reminding me of teachers handwriting when learning to form letters.

La Belle et la Bete, 'Beauty and the Beast' typeface, was created by taking beautiful Garamond and distorting it, through projecting it around corners and edges to create an ugly 'sister' font.

These promotional items were created for a pitch to design the end of year Visual Arts Catalogue 2009. The idea behind the original image was the colour wheel. This was then photographed at various angles. The idea was to gradually reveal the identity of the original image at the exhibition launch.

The original brief was for employees of Urbis to have the chance to submit a proposal for the reception space, which was based around the role of the staff at Urbis. Data was collected from as many members of staff as possible, throughout the office and the gallery floors. This was then transcribed into colour key and circles representing the statistics.
